Compass Team Takes Over Sales of Final One Metropica Condos in Sunrise

Compass executives Miltiadis Kastanis and Bobby Auerbach will lead the sales effort for the remaining residences at One Metropica, the first residential tower completed within Sunrise’s 50-acre Metropica development. The assignment also positions the brokers to advise on future residential phases as the long-delayed mixed-use community moves forward.

Key takeaways

  • One Metropica is approximately 90% sold.
  • The developer has 25 residences remaining, including five penthouses.
  • Kastanis and Auerbach will advise on future residential components.
  • Retail construction has begun as Metropica advances its next phase.

Final residences enter the market

One Metropica contains 263 units across its 28 stories and opened in 2020. The remaining developer inventory includes a mix of residences and five penthouses, giving the new sales team an opportunity to target buyers seeking luxury housing in western Broward County.

The tower is the first residential building delivered within Metropica, a planned community envisioned to combine housing, retail, offices, hotels and other amenities. At full build-out, the development is expected to contain more than 2,000 homes.

Brokers bring complementary experience

Kastanis, an executive director of sales at Compass, has worked on multiple luxury residential projects across South Florida. Auerbach, founder of The Bobby Auerbach Group and a Compass broker associate, brings more than two decades of experience in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Their responsibilities extend beyond selling the remaining One Metropica units. The pair will also advise Metropica Development on future residential offerings, helping shape the community’s broader sales strategy as additional phases are planned.

Metropica resumes development activity

The master-planned project has faced repeated delays since One Metropica opened. However, activity is now picking up, with construction underway on the retail portion and additional offices and hotels included in the long-term plans.

Developer K Group Holdings views the current period as a turning point for Metropica. The project is intended to connect residential living with the shopping, sports, entertainment and business destinations that have expanded around Sunrise.

A broader role for Sunrise

Auerbach said the area has evolved into a significant Broward County destination and that Metropica’s opportunity is to link those existing attractions with a mixed-use residential environment. For the developer, completing One Metropica’s sales program while preparing future phases could help establish the community as a long-term residential and commercial hub in western South Florida.
