A luxury condominium project at The Boca Raton is attracting buyers, with roughly 40% of its 75 planned residences claimed within a few months of sales beginning, according to a project representative. The development marks the first time the century-old resort has offered homes on its grounds, with prices now starting at $8.95 million.
Key takeaways
- About 40% of the planned residences have been claimed, the project says.
- Prices range from $8.95 million to more than $20 million.
- The homes will include resort services and access to extensive private amenities.
- Construction is expected to begin late this year, with completion planned for 2029.
A first for the century-old resort
The 75 residences are planned for 501 E. Camino Real in Boca Raton. The resort, which opened in 1926, has historically operated as a hotel and leisure destination; the condominium project is its first sale of residences on the property. The lineup includes terrace residences, penthouses and three villas with private gardens, plunge pools and outdoor kitchens.
The reported starting price has climbed from earlier expectations. Bloomberg previously reported a $4 million entry point, while a May sales announcement listed prices starting at $5 million. Current prices begin at $8.95 million, with larger three- to five-bedroom homes priced above $20 million.
Resort services and private amenities
Residents are set to receive at-home butler service, with childcare and pet care among the offerings. Planned building amenities include a rooftop pool with cabanas, a spa with a hammam and thermal suites, a fitness center with a Pilates studio, a golf simulator, a card room and a lounge with a bartender.
The development is also expected to provide 45,000 square feet of private indoor and outdoor amenities. A new top-tier Residential Club Membership is designed to extend to owners’ parents and children and remain attached to the residence, according to developer BDT & MSD Partners. Sabrina Gleizer, a partner at the firm, described the resort-serviced lifestyle as a distinctive feature of the project.
Design and construction plans
The eight-story building received city council approval in March. Construction is scheduled to start late this year, with the project expected to be completed in 2029. Hart Howerton is designing the exterior, planned with ivory stucco, shell stone and bronze accents. Pembrooke & Ives is handling interiors that draw on the resort’s Addison Mizner-era character.
Plans call for 12-foot-deep terraces, full-height windows, white oak and marble finishes, and kitchens equipped with Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove appliances.
A major investment in Boca Raton
Michael Dell’s MSD Partners acquired The Boca Raton for $875 million in 2019 and later combined with Byron Trott’s BDT & Co. The investment group has put about $375 million into property upgrades and secured a $1 billion refinancing. The resort now spans five hotels and about 1,000 rooms, alongside a beach, golf course, marina, spa and tennis facilities.
The condominium project adds a residential component to a broader overhaul of the resort. Its strong early sales indicate interest in combining private homes with hotel-style services, though the development remains under construction and its planned completion is several years away.
