Three tourists visiting Central Florida for a car show were fatally shot outside their Kissimmee rental home on Saturday afternoon. The victims, identified as brothers Robert Luis Kraft, 70, and Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, along with their friend James Puchan, 69, were preparing to leave the area when the shooting occurred.

Key Takeaways

  • Three tourists were killed in a shooting outside a Kissimmee rental home.
  • The suspect, a neighbor with a history of mental health issues, was previously found not guilty of attempted murder by reason of insanity.
  • Authorities described the incident as a random, premeditated, and cold-blooded act with no prior connection to the victims.

A Day of Tragedy

The victims, all from Michigan and Ohio, were attending the Mecum Car Show. Their planned departure on Friday was delayed due to issues with their rental car. Shortly after noon on Saturday, while outside their rental property, they were shot by their neighbor, Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, 29. Osceola County Sheriff Chris Blackmon stated that there was no prior conflict or interaction between the shooter and the victims, emphasizing the random nature of the attack.

Suspect’s Troubled Past

Bojeh has a prior record, having been charged in 2021 with attempted murder for randomly firing into cars at a Kissimmee gas station. He was subsequently acquitted by reason of insanity. Sheriff Blackmon described Bojeh as a "frequent flyer" and a "known person" to law enforcement.

Investigation and Charges

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving multiple calls about gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered the victims outside with fatal gunshot wounds. Bojeh was apprehended inside his adjacent home. He is currently being held without bond at the Osceola County Jail and is expected to face three counts of first-degree murder.

Families Mourn Unimaginable Loss

The families of the deceased released a joint statement expressing their profound grief, remembering the victims as "beloved husbands, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and friends." They described the loss as unexpected and unimaginable, requesting privacy and prayers during their time of mourning.
