For homeowners, particularly those with homestead exemptions who have resided in their homes for several years, significant reductions in property taxes are unlikely. Florida’s "Save Our Homes" amendment limits annual increases in taxable value for homesteaded properties to 3% or the Consumer Price Index (CPI), whichever is less. Consequently, even if a property’s market value decreases, its capped taxable value might still increase by the maximum allowable percentage.
