From Juan Gabriel’s home to a resort-style compound
Gabriel acquired the property in 1995 for about $1.3 million and transferred ownership to his son, Ivan Aguilera, in 2015. The singer died the following year, at age 66. The estate later sold to an unidentified limited liability company in 2022, and its new owners invested millions in a major renovation.
The result is described as a self-contained village, with manicured grounds, ponds and two swimming pools connecting the various buildings. The five-bedroom main house spans two levels and measures about 11,000 square feet.
Spaces for sport, wellness and entertaining
Five additional structures add to the compound’s range of amenities. They include a three-bedroom guesthouse, a clubhouse with a movie theater and cocktail bar, and a wellness center equipped with a gym, steam room, dry sauna and cold plunge.
A separate, climate-controlled basketball facility covers 10,500 square feet. The property also features walking paths, fruit orchards, murals and art installations, as well as a screened pavilion overlooking a koi pond. A mural on the guesthouse was created by Miami-based artist Kyle Pulley, known as SNEAK.
A property with a lasting musical legacy
Gabriel, widely known to fans as “Juanga” and “El Divo de Juárez,” sold more than 100 million records during a career spanning 45 years. At the time of his death in 2016, his real estate holdings reportedly included more than 30 properties in Mexico and the United States.
His former home in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, has since been preserved as Museo Juan Gabriel. The Southwest Ranches estate offers a different glimpse of the singer’s legacy: a private retreat now reimagined as an expansive luxury compound.
