loanDepot to establish Miami-Dade corporate center with 120 jobs

Mortgage lender loanDepot plans to open a roughly 20,000-square-foot corporate center in Miami-Dade County in September, creating an East Coast hub with an initial workforce of about 120 employees. Most positions are expected to be filled by new hires, adding technology, marketing, recruiting and mortgage operations roles to the region’s economy.

Key takeaways

  • The center is expected to open in September with about 120 employees.
  • The precise address has not been disclosed, but the company says it will be in the Miami Gardens area.
  • The office will be loanDepot’s first corporate center on the East Coast.
  • Planned functions include technology, marketing, recruiting and mortgage fulfillment.

The project represents a significant expansion of loanDepot’s presence in South Florida. Although the company already operates retail branches in South Miami, Pembroke Pines and Palm Beach, the new facility will bring a broader range of corporate and lending functions under one roof.

A new East Coast hub

LoanDepot said the Miami-Dade center will serve as a strategic base for supporting growth across the country. The company expects the office to unite key teams while providing additional capacity for its direct lending, retail and partnership lending businesses.

The company has not identified the specific property or address. A spokesperson said only that the facility will be located in the Miami Gardens area. The planned lease is described as mid-term, and the office is expected to cover approximately 20,000 square feet.

Roles and business functions

The center will include corporate support positions in technology, marketing and recruiting, as well as mortgage fulfillment roles. Those operations will support customers and loan channels beyond the South Florida market.

LoanDepot is licensed nationwide and offers mortgage lending and related real estate services. The Miami-Dade location is intended to expand the company’s ability to serve borrowers while giving it access to the area’s diverse labor pool.

Expanding an established local presence

The lender already has connections to the region through its retail network and its naming partnership with loanDepot Park, the Miami Marlins’ county-owned stadium. The venue, which opened in 2012 on the former Orange Bowl site, adopted the loanDepot name before the 2021 baseball season.

Founder and CEO Anthony Hsieh said the company already has strong roots in Miami through its local retail operations and relationship with the Marlins. He characterized the new center as an investment in the company’s employees, technology platform and next stage of growth.

Part of a national network

LoanDepot was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Irvine, California. It also operates corporate centers in Southfield, Michigan; Plano, Texas; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Chandler, Arizona.

The Miami-Dade facility will become the company’s first corporate center on the East Coast. Its planned opening is expected to broaden loanDepot’s national footprint while adding approximately 120 jobs to the local market, with hiring concentrated around the center’s initial launch.
