Compass continues its strategic expansion in the lucrative South Florida real estate market with the addition of the highly successful Tika Team to its Fort Lauderdale office. This move is expected to significantly enhance Compass’s capabilities in serving the region’s luxury property sector.

Key Takeaways

  • The Tika Team, led by Tika Van Den Hurk, brings over $500 million in sales experience.
  • The team specializes in South Florida’s luxury waterfront estates and condominiums.
  • This expansion strengthens Compass’s presence in the growing Fort Lauderdale luxury market.

Tika Team Joins Compass

Compass has officially welcomed the Tika Team to its Las Olas office in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The team is spearheaded by broker associate Tika Van Den Hurk, a seasoned professional with a decade of experience and over $500 million in closed sales. Their expertise lies in the South Florida luxury property market, with a particular focus on waterfront estates, condominiums, and investment real estate.

Jeff Polashuk, regional vice president of Compass, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "As Fort Lauderdale’s luxury real estate market continues to expand and attract new residents, The Tika Team will be a valuable addition to the Las Olas office, further strengthening Compass’ presence in the market." He added, "We are thrilled to announce that Tika and her team are joining Compass as they bring their expertise, energy and leadership to Las Olas and beyond."

Van Den Hurk, originally from Canada, relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 2013. Prior to her real estate career, she successfully launched a fashion sales and distribution business and co-founded a technology support company serving Fortune 500 clients. Most recently, she served as senior director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman, where she managed significant projects like the Four Seasons Residences Fort Lauderdale.

Van Den Hurk commented on the move, "Known for record-breaking sales and personalized client service, our team will now have access to leverage Compass’s tools, marketing power and global reach to further elevate the standard for luxury real estate." She emphasized Compass’s unique blend of cutting-edge technology and world-class support, which will allow her team to concentrate on delivering exceptional service and results.

Broader South Florida Expansion

This addition follows Compass’s recent recruitment of The Korman Group, led by Michael Korman, to its Boca Raton office. The Korman Group, which has facilitated over $400 million in transactions since 2019, will extend its operations across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Jupiter. Korman highlighted Compass’s integrated approach to technology, support, and culture as a key factor in his team’s decision, viewing the move as the commencement of a "next and greatest chapter."

Compass’s continued investment in top talent across South Florida underscores its commitment to dominating the region’s high-end residential market. The company aims to provide its agents with unparalleled resources to excel in serving a discerning clientele.
