Florida Realtors Named a Top Workplace
For the fourth consecutive year, Florida Realtors has earned a spot on Florida Trend magazine’s "Best Companies To Work For" list. Ranking 30th in the mid-sized employer category, the association’s CEO, Margy Grant, attributed the success to its dedicated team and a culture of collaboration and respect. With 150 employees across offices in Orlando and Tallahassee, Florida Realtors serves over 238,000 members statewide.
Realtors Honored for Community Service
Several Florida Realtors have been recognized by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for their impactful volunteer work. Iris Beaugrand, Maria Flores Correa, and Julia D’Arts were selected for NAR’s Volunteering Works grants and mentoring program. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 seed grant and a year of mentorship to enhance their charitable efforts.
- Iris Beaugrand established Fandango Sanctuary, a haven for rescued farm animals that also provides therapeutic interactions for seniors, veterans, and individuals with special needs.
- Maria Flores Correa founded Fundación Horeb Believe, offering financial literacy education in Spanish to empower individuals and families.
- Julia D’Arts founded I Am A Safe Place, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through workshops, advocacy, and emergency shelter.
Annual Awards Recognize Realtor Excellence
At the Florida Realtors Annual Convention & Trade Expo, several individuals were honored for their exceptional achievements:
- Realtor of the Year: Gia Arvin, the 2024 President, was recognized for her leadership, particularly in guiding the association through significant industry changes.
- Associate Realtor of the Year: Jarrod Lowe was honored for his decade of leadership at local, state, and national levels, including his work in modernizing board operations and mentoring emerging leaders.
- Commercial Realtor Achievement Award: Jack Rodriguez, a second-generation Realtor with 55 years of experience, was celebrated for his lifetime contributions to commercial real estate.
- Realtor Achievement Award: Christopher M. Krzemien was recognized for his outstanding service and leadership over the past three years.
- Humanitarian of the Year: Elizabeth “Spencer” Rigsby received the award for her extensive community service, including her work with the Guadalupe Center and Beverly’s Angels.
- Spirit of Advocacy Award: Connie Johnson was honored for her decades of dedication to championing private property rights and Realtor engagement.
- Newcomer Award: Candace FitzGordon was recognized for her significant contributions and engagement within her first three years in the profession.
- Educator of the Year: Amanda Feagle was celebrated for her pivotal role in Realtor education and her energetic approach to teaching.
- Education Volunteer of the Year: John Slivon was recognized for his long-standing commitment to advancing professional development through initiatives like Marketing Madness and the Leadership Academy.
Additionally, the Florida Realtor magazine’s Editorial Excellence Awards were presented, recognizing outstanding articles.
