Family Feud Erupts Over Gerald Robins’ Estate: Stacy Robins Claims Concealed Wealth

Stacy Robins, a Miami Beach real estate broker, is embroiled in a legal battle to remove the curator managing her late father Gerald Robins’ estate. This move comes after she accused her mother and siblings of misrepresenting the wealth left behind by their family patriarch, who died nearly three years ago.

Allegations of Concealed Assets

In petitions filed with the Miami-Dade County Probate Court and a related civil lawsuit, Stacy Robins asserts that her family has conspired to hide more than $30 million in assets belonging to Gerald Robins, a prominent real estate investor in Miami Beach. Gerald Robins passed away on October 2, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Who Are the Key Players?

  • Stacy Robins: The challenging family member seeking to contest the estate management.
  • Joan Robins: Stacy’s mother, who sold her Star Island mansion for $38.7 million.
  • Gina Robins, Craig Robins, and Scott Robins: Stacy’s siblings, all involved in the real estate sector.

Despite Gerald Robins’ estate being valued at $9.1 million, Stacy claims she may be entitled to a larger inheritance than the $1 million currently allocated for her.

Ousting the Curator

On June 25, 2023, Stacy Robins filed a motion to have Marsha Madrosky, a Boca Raton attorney, removed as the estate’s curator. Madrosky was appointed by Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Bertila Soto in 2023 after all parties agreed upon her management of the estate. Court records indicate that Gerald Robins’ estate has paid Madrosky $250,000 in fees so far, with projections suggesting a similar total for the current year.

Stacy Robins has expressed a lack of confidence in Madrosky’s capability to uncover allegedly missing assets. "Accessing and discovering information about my father’s estate remains exceedingly challenging," she stated, emphasizing her hope for truth, fairness, and due process.

Mixed Responses to the Petition

Madrosky has not commented on the allegations directly. However, attorney Peter Prieto, representing her family members, argues that there are no grounds to remove Madrosky, labeling her a "highly experienced lawyer" whose actions have been in line with legal expectations. Prieto stated:

"What the curator has done is simply followed the law and the facts."

Tensions Between Stacy Robins and Madrosky

The dispute intensified when an initial probate court petition lacked dollar amounts for key assets. Following an amended petition that identified over $3 million in assets, additional disclosures surfaced, revealing $6.1 million in investment accounts had transferred to joint accounts shortly before Gerald Robins’ passing.

Accusations of Interference

Stacy Robins has accused Madrosky of obstructing her family’s ability to obtain necessary financial and medical records related to Gerald Robins. Her motion claims Madrosky has demonstrated “unprofessional, prejudicial, and biased behavior.” Recent email exchanges indicate escalating tensions, with Madrosky stating:

"The continued confrontational and antagonistic pattern is truly tiresome and non-productive."

Allegations of Misrepresentation

Additionally, Stacy Robins claims Madrosky allegedly made misleading statements regarding Gerald Robins’ financial documents. A particular investment account profile indicated that Gerald’s net worth ranged between $30 million and $40 million. However, during a court hearing, Madrosky stated that this figure was merely an estimate from a broker.

Validating the Claim

Contrary to Madrosky’s assertions, Stacy’s recent motion references a signed document from Gerald Robins, affirming the legitimacy of his client profile, thus contesting Madrosky’s credibility on this matter.

"When Judge Soto asked about the veracity of the Stifel form, Madrosky failed to disclose crucial relevant documents," the motion states.

Conclusion: A Legal Battle Ahead

As this family dispute unfolds, the courtroom has become a battleground not just for wealth but for the legacy of Gerald Robins. The outcome of this case will depend heavily on the evidence brought forth regarding the alleged mismanagement of his estate.
