Extended Relief for Hurricane-Affected Residents
In response to the ongoing recovery from Hurricanes Milton and Helene, the Tax Collector’s Office is implementing several extended relief measures designed to assist residents during this challenging time.
Key Features of the Relief Program:
- Extended Discount Period: Property owners can receive a 4% discount on their tax bills by making early payments. This discount is now available until December 31, 2024, giving residents more time to recover from hurricane impacts.
Early Payment Options
Even though tax notices will be mailed on November 25, 2024, residents are encouraged to take advantage of online services available at hillstax.org. The options for payment include:
- Debit/Credit Card
- Free “e-Check” via checking account
Additional Payment Methods
Residents can also choose from various other payment options:
- In-person: Payments can be made directly at any Hillsborough County Tax Collector office starting November 1, 2024.
- Drop Box: Securely drop off payments at designated Tax Collector office locations.
- Mail: Ensure all mailed payments are postmarked by the deadline.
- Partial Payments: Taxpayers have the option to make partial payments on their property taxes, subject to certain restrictions.
- Installment Plan: Property owners can apply for a 2025 installment plan, allowing them to pay quarterly while still enjoying any available discounts.
